Today, April 1st, is Maundy Thursday when we hold a special communion service at 7:00 PM at CPCC. You could refer to today as “Good Friday–Eve” -- the night before Jesus’ betrayal and crucifixion on Good Friday. That evening Jesus gathered His disciples to eat the Passover meal, which we now know as the Last Supper. Jesus used the bread and a cup of wine to institute Christian Communion (the Lord’s Supper) giving His disciples a command to love one another (‘maundy’ comes from command, as in “mandate”).
Plan to join us in person in the sanctuary at 7:00 PM. For Members who cannot attend, we will set up a Zoom broadcast of the service (the link emailed in advance is required). The service program can be downloaded HERE.
Let us pray that the profound love and mercy of God displayed in the suffering and death of Christ will lead us to greater praise and more fruitful service in His kingdom.
