Join us Sunday, Aug. 26th for picnic lunch and a ride on a real train at the Adirondack Live Steamers Club just east of I-87 exit #15 (near Dave & Nancy French’s home). Burgers & hot dogs will be grilled by the club, and attenders should bring a salad or dessert to share. These real, scale-sized trains have an engineer & conductor, and reach a top speed of 5 MPH as they travel through the woods, over bridges, and through tunnels. A signed waiver is necessary upon arrival.
See www.adirondacklivesteamers.org for more info and pictures. Our annual summertime “Family Class” — with all ages, kids (who can read) and adults together — is underway in the Fireside Room during July & August. Our topic this year is The Effective Ambassador from 2nd Corinthians 5:20, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” There will be weekly Bible lessons, memory verses, some skits and games too. Pray that the Lord would equip us all, and send us forth! CPCC has a fun summer social event planned for Friday night, August 10th — a mini-golf & ice cream outing at nearby PIRATES HIDEOUT (175 Guideboard Road). Golf is only $8 for adults, $4 for pirates 4 & under. Ice cream is extra. See you there! |
