Happy resurrection day to you all. As we end the day, here is a devotional message from Pastor David Bissett entitled "Open My Eyes" from Psalm 119:18. It's not only on "Easter Sunday" that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead — Christians celebrate the resurrection EVERY Sunday! Although we cannot safely gather this weekend for corporate worship, we all should praise the Lord who conquered sin and death, and offers eternal life to all who believe.
CPCC will post our Easter Sunday service & sermon here on our website (and link it to our Facebook page). Plan to "join us" in giving praise to our gracious God. Today is "Good Friday" — the day we remember the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. In this brief video, Pastor David Bissett reads the account of the crucifixion of Jesus from the Gospel of Mark (15:1-39), and talks about the conclusion of the Roman Centurion who was present that day. For today's mid-week devotional, PDB turns to Luke 19:46, where Jesus, after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, goes to the temple and cleanses it in dramatic fashion. Jesus then states, "It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.” (ESV) This quotation comes from Isaiah 56:7. Listen as PDB speaks of the importance of the temple, and of prayer. May the Lord draw you closer to Him through prayer, in these challenging days. |
